Not all albums shown under Windows
I installed MinimServer on my windows 10 PC, allowed it to complete the scan and when it informed me it was online I used the HEOS app from DENON to connect to MinimServer (which appeared under the list of media servers - it is the only one present). The search worked fast and music played perfectly, however I noticed that about half of the "Albums" (which are just folders on the disk pointed to during setup" are not showing up. An example is Elton John Jewel Box Disk 6 and Disk 7. Disk 7 shows up, but Disk 6 does not show up. I checked the properties of the individual tracks in the respective folders and the Volume information is registered correctly. There are many other cases of the same thing happening. What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks
Peter

RE: Not all albums shown under Windows
The next step is to look at the MinimServer log for error messages. To see the log, right-click the minim icon in the system tray and select 'Show log'. Are there any messages that refer to the files that are missing?

RE: Not all albums shown under Windows
Hi, I opened the log file and saved it as a .txt file. Given that my music library is 160GB there are relatively few entries. I did a specific search for "Elton John" and found nothing, I also scrolled through the entries and didnt find any reference either. There are a few entries about conflicting track numbers, but none refer to the albums I notices were missing. Appreciate your comments

RE: Not all albums shown under Windows
Please try browsing your MinimServer library using [folder view]. This selection is the last entry in the top-level menu shown by your control point. Under this selection, you should see the complete folder hierarchy of your MinimServer library. When you look here, are the folders and files for the missing albums shown?

RE: Not all albums shown under Windows
So I followed your suggestion, I stared the HEOS app (on Android) and selected mediaserver from there I selected folders and scrolled down to "Elton John". Again I have an odd mix, some folders are present, and some are not shown.
Here is an example: on the pc I can see two folders called "Love Songs" and "Love Songs (Pickwick). If I look at the properties of the various songs in both folders then they correctly state the name of the Album (which is the same as the folder name). On HEOS under the folder view I see "Love Songs" but not "Love Songs (Pickwick)". When I search for the album on the HEOS I find "Love Songs" but not "Love Songs (Pickwick)". I see the same thing for other artists, but cant quite work out what is causing some albums and or folders to be displayed and other not.

RE: Not all albums shown under Windows
Are you selecting [folder view] (exactly this with the [ ]) or some other folder view provided by the HEOS app?

RE: Not all albums shown under Windows
Hi. I think I have worked out what is happening. It would appear that any folder exclusively populated with .WMA files is NOT being displayed in the music search (the confusing part is that . A search in this forum seems to indicate that .WMA is not supported. I suppose it makes sense for them not to be displayed if they cant be played. I didnt make the link as I started building the library over fifteen years ago, I know I changed to MP3 years ago but quite a lot of the older stuff is WMA. Any chance that WMA will be supported?

RE: Not all albums shown under Windows
WMA is an obsolete format and there is no chance that it will be supported by MinimServer. You can use a converter program to convert the files.
