starting up for dummies
Using windows 7, 64 bit, with Java v8 update 91, I downloaded minimserver.
I click on the desktop icon, but nothing happens. Task manager shows "new thread in general- mozilla firefox", no entries for minim in task mgr/processes.

Somehow, the computer thinks minimserver is open because when I try to uninstall it is "Minimserver is running..." pops up.

Current setup uses JRiver Media Center v23 as default music player. What is lacking is ability to use streaming internet radio via my router to PSAudio Direct Stream Bridge I.

Website Instructions are not very helpful. Can anyone point me to a simple and comprehensible set of instructions?
thanks

The instructions are in this section.

When you double-click the MinimServer destop launch icon, you should see a small minim icon (musical note) in the Windows system tray. Check the system tray overflow area (by clicking the upward-pointing arrow in the system tray) as Windows might have put the minim icon there instead (see step 6 of the instructions).

The log shows tag problems with every music file I have - it doesnt like the date format, tag values, etc etc. I don't care - I'll use JRiver for music from the hard drive. How do I set minimserver/streamer to listen to internet radio via my router and a PSAudio Directstream Bridge I (thence to the preamp)??

See the links at the top of this page. These are for BBC HLS streams but the procedure for other radio streams is similar.
