Firewall requirements description

Simon and all, first, thank you for such a great music server and this support community.

I recently migrated from Ubuntu to Centos for my headless MinimServer which was working great for some time. The default firewall configuration for Centos was much more restrictive and I struggled a bit to get the right setup for MinimServer. Several posts on this forum helped me.

This worked for me:

$ sudo firewall-cmd --list-ports
1900/udp 9790/udp 9791/tcp 9790/tcp 9791/udp

$ sudo firewall-cmd --list-services
dhcpv6-client http samba ssh

Could I suggest a brief service/port/firewall requirements section in the MinimServer install instructions?

I understand the first list but not the second. MinimServer doesn't require DHCP, samba or SSH. MinimServer does use HTTP but I wouldn't have regarded this as a "service". It is just a protocol that any application can use over a TCP socket connection.

I should have emphasized the http service on the second list - the others are not relevant as you say. Until I enabled http on the Centos firewall I could not connect to the MinimServer status page on port 9790.

Centos refers to http as a service when using firewall-cmd , for example:

firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-service=http

Perhaps add to the install instructions:

The following ports must be open on any firewall to access MinimServer:
- Port 1900/udp (UPNP)
- Port 9790/tcp
- Port 9791/tcp

I have updated this section (new step 10) and this section (new step 7) to add this port information. Thanks for the suggestion.
