PCM to DSD on the fly transcoding
hi,
this is just a guess.
I read some reviews saying that PCM files transcoded to DSD sound better than PCM files. Of course you need a DSD DAC.
I was wondering if Minimserver could intergrate in the future a new transcoding feature : PCM to DSD on the fly, like softs like JRiver can do.
Would it be possible to run such a trancode function on a Syno212J, although the 212J has a tiny processor (I would prefer not to use a computer to do the transcoding ?
Thanks
Rgds

PS : for the time being, I use the transcoding function flac to wav24bits andthe result is very nice : music flows in a more "fluid" manner than flac direct to dac. Very nice.

I don't have the necessary technical expertise to write this conversion code. You would need to use an offline conversion program to convert the PCM files to DSD, then stream the converted DSD files using MinimServer.
