Just one setup that might be stimulating:

Software:
* Minimserver and music files on a Windows PC
* Firefox, CX Explorer, and BubbleUpNP on an Android tablet
Hardware: A box that receives the stream over wi-fi, like the affordable Denon HEOS2. It has both digital outputs, to feed a DAC in your system, and analog output from its built-in DAC. (The box requires its HEOS app, but you will use it only to connect the box into your home network.)

Create a folder on your PC that will hold files you would like to play next. Some of the files can list streaming URLs for radio stations and such, in .m3u format for example (a simple text-editable format).

Set Windows to share this folder and also the folder(s) that hold your music files over your home network.
At your PC, or with CX Explorer on your tablet, you copy files into the play-now folder.
Set Minimserver's contentDir property to point to the play-now folder.
With Firefox on your PC, you can do what you want with Minimserver, now that it is HTML-based. A Rescan will make the play-now folder contents accessible.

You are set to sit at your listening spot. With BubbleUpNP you launch the first file in the play-now folder.
