Vote of thanks to Simon (& some info for newcomers)

I've been using MinimServer for 3 years and wish to put on record the excellence of this software. It has worked faultlessly with updates incorporated with ne'er a glitch. Over this period my hardware/software combination for playing music has evolved to a state where I can focus on the music, without worrying about drop-outs etc. Thank you Simon.

I've put together a chart showing the network details and hardware components I now use. This may be of use to some newcomers to file-based music playback.

For fun I made a chart of my system too. I'm also using Minimstreamer for years now. And very happy with it.

Since replacing Pioneer N-30 streamer with microRendu sound quality has gotten a boost all over. But now streaming Qobuz seems to sound even better than streaming from NAS. I've not yet decided what to do about that. Maybe first upgrading my NAS tot ds116. The ds112 isn't able to handle transforming all to WAV24. Or maybe adding a EMO EN70HD isolator between router and microRendu.

update 29/1/2017: I did replace the Synology ds112 for ds116. This really makes a difference. The CPU load now is well below 10% while transcoding flac to wav24. Where as the ds112 wasn't able to do wav24 transcoding (CPU load at 90% when transcoding to wav). The sound is clearer. I'm really happy about this.
