Not trying to question your design choices, but from an end-user point of view, I do not really like to have to add [Disc x] to all album tags. All discs come from the same album, and it therefore feels more natural to give them the same name. It also makes it easier to ensure that they have the same name, because the tagging software shows the same album tag, rather than some indication that it's different for all tracks.

As an alternative, you can add DISCSUBTITLE tags to get the same result. The subtitles can be 'Disc 1', 'Disc 2', etc. or they can be any strings of your choosing. See this section for more details.

Many online databases add a (Disc n) or [Disc n] suffix to each disc title in a multidisc album, so this style of tagging isn't unique to MinimServer.

Ah, excellent! That seems indeed more to my liking. I do not have good luck with online databases anyway - I end up editing most of the tags by hand. I probably don't know the right database or tools to use them.
