Update. I installed 274. It appears the issue is resolved with 274. All is well.

The problem fixed in update 274 affects only newly added or changed files. It should not occur when doing a rescan for files already in your library. It sounds like there might be something in your setup that is forcing a full scan to be done every time rather than an incremental rescan. Your scan time of 10 minutes seems quite long and this also suggests that a full scan might be happening.

Where is your library stored and what is your procedure for doing a rescan?
