Update 252 fails

Hello Simon,

Unfortunately minimserver fails to update to 252 on my system:
RPi Zero W (armv6l), running DietPi v9.5.1 (Debian-based Linux distribution)
(see attached screenshot).

uname -a
Linux M-MUSIC-PLAYER 6.1.21+ #1642 Mon Apr 3 17:19:14 BST 2023 armv6l GNU/Linux

What can I do?

This screenshot shows you are running MinimServer update 248 but somehow also have MinimServer update 250 installed.

Please do one of the following:
1) exit MinimServer using the stopall command, then restart MinimServer
2) reboot the Pi Zero

After this and before trying to install anything, please post a screenshot of what is on the Status tab.

See attached screenshot, seems it has not helped.
Also added a screenshot from minimwatch (shows both 248 and 252 installed), somehow the previous update went wrong?

I removed 248 using minimwatch and as a miracle it restarted and somehow silently installed 252 because now it shows minimserver-update-252 installed !

I have never seen two updates installed at the same time. This should not be possible. Something strange must have happened when you tried to update from update 248 to update 250, either manually or as an automatic update.

After you removed update 248, it seems MinimServer restarted with update 250 installed and then did an automatic update to update 252. I am very pleased that you are up and running now.

Update 252 also failing on my 2 Qnap systems. I intended to just do a rescan, when opening Minimserver from the Web-interface I see a message in red at the top " ressouce missing ...minimworld...........jmupd". But I see an invitation to install a new version 252 available as well. So I click on "Install", being prompted to say "OK". The prompt does not shut by itself, and when I close it manually I see see another message in red "error reading update data".

On both of my systems I can see version 250 installed. Ignoring the invitation to update to 252 and just doing the rescan worked fine. My new albums are visible on my control point (Kinsky).

My full license is valid until 04/2025

Thanks for letting me know about this.

To investigate a problem like this, I need to see the complete exact text of any error messages. Providing parts of the message (ressouce missing ...minimworld...........jmupd) leaves too many gaps for me to be able to to fill them in correctly.

If you can make this happen again, please provide the complete exact text of any error messages. It would also be very helpful to know the time when this happened so that I can check the updates server logs to see what messages were exchanged at that time.

I would like to solve this problem but I need a little more to go on so that I can make progress with this.

I am sorry Simon, I cannot reproduce the problem. I have not been into my system for a while and now that I restarted my servers the problem is gone. However 252 is installed (without myself having done anything about it). Some kind of miracle I do not understand. I do not have updates done automatically. That is what my settings say.

It sounds like the messages you saw were caused by a problem with accessing the MinimServer updates server, perhaps because of a network glitch or the server being temporarily unavailable. I don't know how you would have received update 252 if you have automatic updates disabled.
