More than 1 Minimserver
Is it possible to have more than 1 Minimserver on the same NAS drive, for example the first pointing to all classical music, and the second for pop music? It would be really useful to be able to set this up, so that I could use different tagging.

Many thanks for any help.

At present, this isn't supported by the QNAP, Synology or ReadyNAS installation packages. I'm hoping to provide it as a future enhancement.

What kind of NAS do you have?

Hi Simon

Thanks for your reply. Currently I have a Synology DS212j.

RE: More than 1 Minimserver
Hi Simon,

First off, many thanks for a great piece of software. I bought a Naim streamer earlier this year, and after much trial and error found that Minimserver does what I need -I particularly like the intelligent browsing of course, but also the tweaking you can do with TagOptions, TagAlias etc. So I went ahead and bought a Synology DS213, installed Minimserver on there (easy thanks to the instructions you give) and all's been good since.

My wife is now starting to rip her music collection. We have quite a lot of overlap in musical tastes, but also quite a few differences, so I want to keep the two collections separate. I'm currently doing that by using the Media Server that comes with the Disk Station, but it's not nearly as good as MinimServer. So to finally get to the point, I'll second markhp's suggestion of being able to run two severs from the same NAS!

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks very much!

I have been thinking about different options for how to implement this, and I have an idea for how it could be done fairly easily and conveniently. I'll do some experiments in the next few weeks to see if my proposed approach works.

If it does that'd be great, cheers.
