License error: missing serial number - spokojnie55 - 11-04-2026 14:15 Hi, I have two QNAP TS-230s, both run the same software versions. On one of them minimserver (now with full licence) works perfectly, on the other one it didn't before and I can't add the licence as it claims that: "License error: missing serial number." I can't get it to work, I uninstalled and installed it again several times, the "Licence" tab is basically unaccesible. Any idea how to get it to work? Thanks. RE: License error: missing serial number - simoncn - 11-04-2026 14:53 On QNAP, MinimServer obtains the device serial number from QNAP QTS to store as part of the license details. On a very small number of machines, QNAP QTS doesn't return the serial number correctly. This is caused by a QNAP hardware or firmware issue and can usually be fixed by QNAP technical suport. If you login to QNAP QTS and select Control Panel > System > System Status, what do you see for the serial number?
