After installing update 260 I noticed that browsing the genre index, all icons not defined where replaced by the genre icon as defined in the index artist folder.
I think this is by design and should be expected since update 260.
However when browsing the the artist index, missing pictures are replaced by the resent added icon. I would expect the artist icon to show up.

Do you have indexArtwork set to folder or is it set to auto?
Were you browsing the Recently added index when you saw this?

IndexArtwork is set to folder.
It happens when browsing the artist index.
I just tried this on my phone, behaviour is the same.
If there is missing a correct artist picture the Recently added icon pops up

I am not seeing this. When the artist picture is missing, I see the generic artist icon provided by the control point (Linn Kinsky or BubbleUPnP) or the generic folder icon provided by the control point (mconnect). Which control point are you using?

In Kazoo, I see the generic folder icon for artists with no specific image. I see my custom Recently Added image for the Recently Added container.

I just tried LUMIN,Kazoo,Linn and Fidata, all giving the same result.
In all cases the recently added picture is shown.

I only see the generic “Linn” icon when using folder view.
I added AlbumArtist to index and made a test “AlbumArtist” icon.
When browsing AlbumArtist, this test icon is shown when a picture is missing.
