New to Minin and a question regarding MinimWatch - MininServer - sschot - 31-07-2025 18:29 Hey everybody, I am complete new to Minimserver and everything involved. But due to an other streamer, I have to set this up and run. First I started wtih the Minimserver on my Asustor NAS. Everything was running good and without any trouble. The only bad thing was that the respons and operation of my streamer was very slow and delayed. Time for a change. In short Minimserver removed from NAS Intel NUC with Ubuntu Server Drive mounted from NAS to NUC Minimserver installed Firewall setup and enabled This is working. Also the operation is much much much faster from my streamer. And both with my phone and laptop I can operate and there are no issues. Mininwatch installed on Windows 11 computer. At start, Minimwatch is green and working. After a while Minimwatch become gray. Turned the firewall complete off on W11. Still gray icon. Restarting the MW app, stil gray icon. Restarting the NUC with the Minimserver _> Icon become green for a while and turn back the grey Only after a restart it is working a small time, but then I do "loose the connection" from MinimWatch to Minimserver on W11. Somebody an idea or an solution, because this is quite annoying. Many thanks in advance end looking forward for any help, highly appriciated Edit: resarting the W11 machine and MiminWatch do not solve the problem, icon is and stay grey RE: New to Minin and a question regarding MinimWatch - MininServer - sschot - 31-07-2025 18:57 Here some settings maybe involved with the firewall of Ubuntu sudo nano /etc/default/ufw GNU nano 7.2 /etc/default/ufw # Set to yes to apply rules to support IPv6 (no means only IPv6 on loopback # accepted). You will need to 'disable' and then 'enable' the firewall for # the changes to take affect. IPV6=yes # Set the default input policy to ACCEPT, DROP, or REJECT. Please note that if # you change this you will most likely want to adjust your rules. DEFAULT_INPUT_POLICY="DROP" # Set the default output policy to ACCEPT, DROP, or REJECT. Please note that if # you change this you will most likely want to adjust your rules. DEFAULT_OUTPUT_POLICY="ACCEPT" # Set the default forward policy to ACCEPT, DROP or REJECT. Please note that # if you change this you will most likely want to adjust your rules DEFAULT_FORWARD_POLICY="DROP" # Set the default application policy to ACCEPT, DROP, REJECT or SKIP. Please # note that setting this to ACCEPT may be a security risk. See 'man ufw' for # details DEFAULT_APPLICATION_POLICY="SKIP" # By default, ufw only touches its own chains. Set this to 'yes' to have ufw # manage the built-in chains too. Warning: setting this to 'yes' will break # non-ufw managed firewall rules MANAGE_BUILTINS=no Ter informatie RE: New to Minin and a question regarding MinimWatch - MininServer - simoncn - 31-07-2025 19:30 Seeing a MinimWatch green icon for a time and then seeing it change to grey is caused by an issue with UPnP device discovery on your network. This can be related to the IGMP snooping setting in your router. It is not caused by a firewall setting in Ubuntu as this would cause the icon to be grey all the time. For a more detailed explanation and some suggestions for solving the problem, see this page. RE: New to Minin and a question regarding MinimWatch - MininServer - sschot - 31-07-2025 20:19 I turned the IGMP Snooping where the NAS and the Minimserver are connected to OFF. My icon turns green immediate green, while on the other swithces the IGMP Snooping is still on. Zyxel XGS1210-12 For what reason is this with Minimserver and or MinimWatch a problem? Could this be fixed that is work (properbly as it should)? Mostly many THANKS for your support and solution for the moment! Highly appricated! RE: New to Minin and a question regarding MinimWatch - MininServer - simoncn - 31-07-2025 22:41 IGMP snooping is hard to configure correctly. It requires an advanced understanding of networking to do this. If IGMP snooping is enabled but is not configured correctly, UPnP discovery messages sent to or from MinimServer will not be forwarded by the router. MinimServer cannot reconfigure the network to fix this problem. For nearly all users, the best solution is to disable IGMP snooping. RE: New to Minin and a question regarding MinimWatch - MininServer - sschot - 31-07-2025 22:49 Well, there are not so much options in the switch I can turn in on and off IGMP static Router port Standaard auto and I can set to each port 1 till 12 So not a lot of options IMO RE: New to Minin and a question regarding MinimWatch - MininServer - simoncn - 02-08-2025 21:15 The simplest and best solution is to leave IGMP snooping disabled. The only situation where it might be needed is to reduce network traffic if the network is being used for IPTV. |
