Browsing from VLC (Android) fails - bnilsson - 13-01-2025 21:06 When I try to browse Minimserver albums from VLC on Android, they all show up as empty. The Minimserver log says: Browse request from 192.168.1.95: incorrect format for object ID '0$albums$%2aa826' multiple times. What is going on? I have a feeling this is not new. VLC on MacOS or Windows do not behave this way. BN RE: Browsing from VLC (Android) fails - simoncn - 13-01-2025 21:29 This is caused by a bug in VLC for Android. I reported this bug to the VLC developers in January 2018 (issue #19513). Seven years later, this bug report is still open. All albums are empty too, and the same error is logged by Minimserver. This makes me wonder... RE: Browsing from VLC (Android) fails - simoncn - 14-01-2025 20:28 What is the full error message from MinimServer when you use the Nova Video Player app? I am sorry, I was apparently wrong. Embarrassing. Now when I try to get more details, I cannot reproduce it. RE: Browsing from VLC (Android) fails - simoncn - 14-01-2025 23:40 Sometimes this message appears (correctly) if the control point has a cached object ID for an object that is no longer present on the server. This could happen after the server has been rescanned. It sounds like this might be what happened. |
