MinimServer doesn't recognise expansion HD on MELCO N1Z/2 - uodal - 07-07-2024 13:07

I connected an external HD (1TB) to the USB expansion slot of the Melco. The HD is formatted as NTFS. It's USB 2.0

The property 'contentDir' ist set to:
/mnt/disk1/share
/mnt/expansion1/Expansion
/mnt/expansion2/Expansion2

According to the Melco-NAS an expansion disc is connected, but has only 2 GB.

Windows Explorer does only show the following subdirectories:

N-3043 (the Melco NAS' name in my home network)
∟Expansion
..........∟ $RECYCLE.BIN
..........∟ .twonky
∟Internal
..........∟ ... (subdirectories A - Z)
∟Logs

I restarted and rescanned the MinimServer several times.

Any idea, how I can include the songs on the expansion disc into my music library? Maybe the disc should not be formatted as NTFS?

Thanks in advance!

Your contentDir property settings are correct.

Your Windows Explorer file list shows that your expansion drive contains no audio files. This is why MinimServer cannot find any audio files on the drive when rescanning.

I tried this on my N1Z/2 with an NTFS external drive. The files on the drive were shown by Windows Explorer, so the problem is not caused by your drive having NTFS formatting.

Thank you for your reply! This will help to narrow down the problem.

Problem solved. It was the permissions. I had formatted the expansion disc with my pc. Obviously the Melco NAS did not have the permission to access the music folders on the expansion disc. I formatted the disc with the Melco and copied the files again. Now it works perfectly.
