DTS Files - timalina - 03-08-2023 12:12 I have a number of multichannel .dts files that I would like to be able to stream. Is there any way to achieve that other than through lossy conversion to a supported file type? RE: DTS Files - simoncn - 03-08-2023 12:51 To use these files with MinimServer, you would need to convert them to one of the formats listed in the Audio files section. Thanks. Can I presume that would mean lossy conversion and that none of these formats are containers? RE: DTS Files - simoncn - 04-08-2023 10:54 I am not familiar with the .dts format and I don't know whether conversion would be lossy or lossless. Perhaps someone else can comment on this. The .mp4 format is a container (see this page) and it supports multichannel and video. MinimServer is an audio server only and ignores any video content in a .mp4 file. RE: DTS Files - bubbleguuum - 06-08-2023 11:46 DTS is a lossy multichannel audio format. So for best quality you want to convert it to a lossless multichannel audio format such as FLAC. I think I'll leave them as they are and play them outside of Minimserver. |
