update 2.1 >> 2.1.2 alowed ? - froggy - 23-06-2023 17:36 hello first of all, I would like to thank you for this fast and lightweight server. I do run a full licensed 2.1 version on my Qnap nas, which is asking me to update 2.1.2 Can I do that within my 'outdated' license or do I have to upgrade/buy a new license ? side question : is there a repository where one could download previous versions ? Typically, how could I reinstall my 2.1.xx licensed version if I have to reinstall my nas (as for now on only newer 2.2 versions are available) ? kind regards froggy RE: update 2.1 >> 2.1.2 alowed ? - simoncn - 24-06-2023 10:11 Whether or not you can safely update from 2.1 to 2.1.2 depends on the expiry date of your updates license. What is this expiry date? Also, what update level of MinimServer 2.1 do you have installed? MinimServer does not provide a historical archive of older versions. This is because I am only able to provide support for the most recent version and storage space on the download server is limited. If you want to ensure you are able to continue using an older version of MinimServer after a newer version becomes available, you should download the installer file from the MinimServer Downloads page at the time of doing the install and keep a copy of this installer file. Unfortunately I did not save a copy --if a good soul reads this message an could provide a qnap x64 file that would help. cheers RE: update 2.1 >> 2.1.2 alowed ? - simoncn - 24-06-2023 14:55 To answer your question about installing 2.1.2, I need to know your updates expiry date. You can find this by opening the MinimServer configuration web page and selecting the License tab. This should say something like this: Your license includes updates until dd mmm yyyy hh:mm:ss GMT. Please post the date and time shown in this message. Also, please post your MinimServer update level. You can find this on the Status tab of the MinimServer configuration web page. It will say something like this: MinimServer 2.1 update uuu, Copyright © 2012-2021 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. Please post the update level shown in this message. This should say something like this:hi it is written updates until 4th Aprile 2022; and it is a 2.1 update 215 therefore it seems I cannot let install 2.1.2 as the nas is pushing me to; otherwise my license may be canceled and I couldn't reinstall the one that matches the license. As it is a full license, one should be able to reinstall it with the original files and register it , on any supported device. If I change my Qnap Nas for a synology or --even better-- a dedicated Linux device, I am stuck without the files. you right, I should have downloaded all the install files in time. RE: update 2.1 >> 2.1.2 alowed ? - simoncn - 27-06-2023 11:04 With this expiry date, you can update to MinimServer 2.1.2 without losing your full license. If you install 2.1.2 from QNAP App Center, you will still be on update 215 after this installation. With your current license, you cannot update to any update after update 215 and you cannot update to any new version after 2.1.2. You can download a copy of the MinimServer 2.1.2 QNAP install package from the following links: Download MinimServer 2.1.2 for QNAP Intel or AMD NAS Download MinimServer 2.1.2 for QNAP ARMv8 NAS Download MinimServer 2.1.2 for QNAP ARMv7 NAS These downloads are hosted by QNAP and I don't know how long they will continue to be available. It would be great if you could provide linux intelx64 and readynas as well (as MP link if you want) to ba able to run minim server alongside the nas itself --which is getting old now ts251+) cheers RE: update 2.1 >> 2.1.2 alowed ? - simoncn - 27-06-2023 16:06 I cannot provide any more download links for old and unsupported versions.
