I have just installed minimserver (2.2-7001) on my new Sinology 1821+ to replace my old Qnap.
I first installed minimserver with just a folder with a few files on it (under Music shared folder) to test, and it worked fine, then I copied my entire collection on the same Music shared folder.
But to my surprise, when I rescan minimserver and it only sees and rescan the first one I installed.
Any change under that first subfolder is rescanned fine, but nothing outside it.
minimserver is pointed to Music folder, but it only sees the first subfolder I copied, not the other subfolders I copiet afterwards.
I have uninstalled and installed minimserver, rebooted … nothing is working.
Please help! I ran out of ideas.

This sounds like a folder permissions problem. On DSM 6.x and earlier, MinimServer runs under the root user and has access to all folders. On DSM 7.x, DSM runs MinimServer under a special user named MinimServer and this user needs to have permission to access your library folders.
The simplest way to do this is to give all your library folders read permission for the administrators group. The MinimServer user is a member of this group, so MinimServer will be able to access these folders.

It seems to me that minimserver has permissions.

DSM version: DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 5
I hope the following makes sense to you:
I created a new shared folder, different name, same permissions.
The I copied a new folder from my Music library under it, pointed minimserver to it and it worked OK.
Then I copied another one, rescan, and OK both visible.
Next step I thought it would be better to cut and paste instead of copy and paste (always within the NAS, using File Station) to speed up. Then nothing! It didn’t work, minimserver rescan didn’t see it.
Cut back to original library and the copy paste and this time it rescans OK.
If I copy something from the computer, it also works.
So, copy-paste works but cut-paste doesn’t.
I do hope it makes sense to you because I don’t have a clue ???????

Unfortunately I am not able to view the screenshots in your post.
It sounds like the folder you are cutting and pasting has incorrect permissions. The cut and paste preserves these (incorrect) permissions but a copy and paste creates new (correct) permissions.

That makes sense, it seems the folder has not updated permissions.

These screenshots show that the permissions for the Music folder are OK. You should be able to see the problem if you look at the permissions of the subfolder that cannot be scanned.

Please post the screen that you see when you view the folder in File Station, with the information not obscured by the Properties pop-up window.

The exact same on both, the unreadable one and the readable one, once copied to the new folder.
