Problem with Minimstreamer after update to 2.2 - Lio84 - 02-01-2023 15:38 After updating to Minimserver 2.2, I get the following message in Minimserver status: "MinimStreamer: transcode setting 'alac:wav' requires a converter" Media server status is: Media server status for MinimServer[NAS0AA30A]: Error Stream transcode options are: flac:wav, alac:wav There were no specific converter indicated before the update to 2.2 When Minimstreamer is removed, it works but I lose the conversion to wav Minimserver installed on NAS QNAP HS251+ with QTS 5.0.1.2248 (last version) Any advice ? RE: Problem with Minimstreamer after update to 2.2 - stefano_mbp - 02-01-2023 15:45 According to this page for alac transcoding a converter is needed while it is not for flac transcoding RE: Problem with Minimstreamer after update to 2.2 - simoncn - 02-01-2023 19:00 I am seeing a similar problem on my HS-251+. It is working OK on my TS-119 (older level of QTS). I will post back here when I have more information. RE: Problem with Minimstreamer after update to 2.2 - simoncn - 02-01-2023 21:57 The problem on my HS-251+ was caused by a configuration error. I have it working now. If you don't install a converter program, MinimServer will use the default version of ffmpeg that comes with QTS. If you look in the stream.converter property, the value 'ffmpeg' indicates that the default QTS ffmpeg converter is being used. This converter can transcode FLAC and ALAC to WAV. Have you changed the stream.converter property to some value other than 'ffmpeg'? If so, what value have you used for this property? The 'requires a converter' error message is telling you that MinimStreamer could not find a converter at the location you have specified in the stream.transcode property. RE: Problem with Minimstreamer after update to 2.2 - Lio84 - 02-01-2023 23:19 There were nothing in stream.converter property before the update and it is still the case - When I put ffmpeg in the stream converter property, the following message appears in red: "Converter not supported; correct highlighted value and retry" I guess I should put a path but I cannot find the location of ffmpeg in the NAS - When I put flac:wav in stream.transcode (alac:wav is removed) and nothing in stream.converter, Minimserver is running and the flac files are correctly transcoded in wav RE: Problem with Minimstreamer after update to 2.2 - simoncn - 03-01-2023 12:01 I have found the reason why this is no longer working. The problem is caused by a change in QTS 5.0.1.2248, not by updating to MinimServer 2.2. Previous versions of QTS contained a preinstalled version of the ffmpeg converter program and MinimStreamer was using this as the converter program by default. In QTS 5.0.1.2248, this preinstalled version of ffmpeg has been removed. To use alac:wav transcoding in QTS 5.0.1.2248, you need to download and install a third-party version of the ffmpeg converter program, such as the Qnapclub ffmpeg package (see this page). After installing this package, you need to set the stream.converter property to /opt/ffmpeg/ffmpeg so that MinimStreamer will use the ffmpeg converter you have installed. |
