Upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 - stefano_mbp - 03-09-2022 15:52

Hi Simon, I have just updated the Nuc on which is running Minimserver to Ubuntu 22.04 from 20.04.
Unfortunately Minimserver doesn’t start, it is reporting this error (see attached screenshot
Thanks for your help

RE: Upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 - stefano_mbp - 03-09-2022 17:47

Update.
I restarted Minimserver and now it told me there are too many activation records
License server error 500: [dcecd5ce] Too many matching activation records; resetting to Starter Edition
License server error 500: [dcff92db] Too many matching activation records
... what to do next?

I am away from home and I can't try this myself. The /tmp directory usually has permissions that allow all users to create files and directories. If Ubuntu 22.04 has changed this, it might explain the problem. What output do you get if you run this command:
Code:
ls -l /tmp
in a terminal window?

I will check the license database to see what is causing this. It is very likely to be related to the other issue you reported about /tmp/.minimserver permissions. I should be able to update the license database to fix the error 500 but it is likely this would happen again if you try to run MinimServer using Ubuntu 22.04. For this reason, I think solving the /tmp permissions problem (see my previous post) should be the first priority.

RE: Upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 - simoncn - 04-09-2022 13:57

Thanks for this. I am making good progress with understanding what has happened and I should have a solution for you by this evening. The problem does not seem to be caused by Ubuntu 22.04.
