Synology, Some Albums Missing from Scan - MoPac - 07-08-2022 17:57

Simon:
Recently I installed MinimServer, Starter Edition into a Synology DS416. After the scan there were a few albums missing. The one I will focus on here is in the folder Music/Tests.

The album referred to here is Audio Ideas/Test & Reference CD.

The attached screenshots explain the issue best.

Have you checked the MinimServer log for error messages relating to the missing albums?

Do you see any of the missing albums if you use the [folder view] index to view your library?

Simon:
No. They are also missing from the (folder view).

I found out what's wrong though. Seems some of the folders have Properties attached to them like the Properties from DropBox. When I move the folder to an attached drive on my computer, delete the folder on the Synology then load the folder back into the Synology it now shows after a scan.
Also may get the message "Do you want to move this folder without it's Properties?" (YES I DO!).

This Synology NAS was loaned to me by a friend. Where some of his library came from is a question. I've been put in charge of the tagging.

Thanks. Rich

Thanks for this information about the cause of the problem.

If MinimServer finds a folder that it cannot read, there should be a message in the MinimServer log saying this. Perhaps these DropBox properties make the folder invisible to MinimServer so that MinimServer doesn't see the folder when it is doing a rescan.
