certain m4a tracks not being picked up - teryakiwok - 07-02-2022 14:24 I uploaded a new album to my Synology drive last night however the rescan isn't picking this folder up for some reason. I have attached a txt file with some media info from one of the tracks. The files play without issue on my PC so I'm stumped as to why they won't appear via MinimServer?! I'm using version 2.1-2100 Thanks RE: certain m4a tracks not being picked up - simoncn - 07-02-2022 15:42 Is the disk file extension of these files .m4a? Are there any messages in the MinimServer log about these files? RE: certain m4a tracks not being picked up - teryakiwok - 07-02-2022 16:58 Hi, yes the extension is .m4a and there's nothing related in the log file! RE: certain m4a tracks not being picked up - stefano_mbp - 07-02-2022 17:04 Could it be a read and/or write permission issue? Check it in the new folder and in each file inside RE: certain m4a tracks not being picked up - simoncn - 07-02-2022 17:17 MinimServer doesn't require write permission for audio files. A read permission problem would show messages in the log. Are you sure you did a Rescan and not just a Restart? I even tried deleting it from Synology and re-uploading however no luck.
RE: certain m4a tracks not being picked up - teryakiwok - 07-02-2022 17:33 Would you like me to send you one of the files to see if you can replicate the issue at your end? RE: certain m4a tracks not being picked up - simoncn - 07-02-2022 17:38 Do you have the excludePattern property set? This could cause a specific folder or specific files to be excluded. If this isn't the reason, you can upload one of these files to my FTP server and I will check whether the file is working for me. I will send you a PM with the server details. RE: certain m4a tracks not being picked up - simoncn - 07-02-2022 21:43 Thanks for uploading the file. I am seeing the same problem. This file uses ec-3 encoding (Dolby Digital Plus) for its audio data and MinimServer doesn't support this encoding. MinimServer should write an error message to the log but it is only writing a debug message. I will add an error message for this in the next MinimServer update. In the longer term, I will investigate whether MinimServer could add support for this file encoding. Yeah that would be great if Minimserver could support it in the future as recently quite a few albums are switching over to multi channel atmos! |
