How to delete unneeded instance of MinimServer? - MinimBear - 20-01-2022 17:32

How do I delete an instance of MinimServer that is no longer used, but keeps reloading with a red note in the top bar of my MacBook Pro?

I have the green icon (labeled MinimServer) and the grey icon (labeled MiniimWatch) on my Dock (MacBookPro).

When I click the green icon, it opens the instance of MinimServer that I need to delete (audio source no longer exists). I get the red note in the top menu bar.

When I click the grey icon, it opens the instance of MinimServer that I actually use. I get the white note in the top menu bar.

I have screenshots of the above, but can't seem to paste them here.

I don't really understand what's going on here.

I may be missing the point, but why not go into the folder, Applications, and delete the offending Minimserver? Or something like CleanMyMac to do it for you? The beauty of Macs, no Registry to have to hack around.

Do you want to run MinimServer on your Mac or on another machine such as a NAS?

You can attach an image to a forum post by doing the following:

1) Create a post or a reply to a post
2) In the Attachments section (below where you type your post message), click the Browse button
3) This shows a file selection dialog. Navigate through the filesystem and select the file you want to attach to your post.
4) The filename of your selected file should appear next to the Browse button
5) Now click the Add Attachment button at the far right of the Attachments section
6) The attached file should appear on its own line underneath the Browse button
7) Repeat steps 2 to 6 if you want to attach more files
8) Post your message

I know that I have MinimServer and MinimWatch on my Mac and MinimServer on my NAS. I readily confess that I don't know why - I was just told to set it up that way.

So, I'm afraid I don't really know the answer to Simon's question. I thought I had to have it on both machines at the same time. It's starting to sound like that's not the case.

I suggest try running Minimserver on you NAS and Minimwatch on your Mac. Delete other instances. You can always reinstall later.

The advice from Donuk is correct. To delete MinimServer from your Mac, do the following:

1) From the menu of the red icon, select Exit
2) The red icon should disappear
3) Drag the MinimServer program from the Applications folder to the Trash

Thanks go to Donuk and Simoncn. I have done as you said, and everything seems to be fine.
