Melco N1A FLAC files playing at the wrong speed via MinimServer 2.1 update 210 - ttarpd - 09-01-2022 18:39

Hi

I have a Melco N1A running Melco firmware version 3.93 and MinimServer 2.1 update 210 (Full license).
I've had the Melco for approximately 3 years.
The Melco is playing through a USB DAC that I haven't changed in the last 2 years.

I use Linn Kazoo 4.13.88 on a Windows 10 PC to control what music is playing.

Most of the music stored on the Melco are FLAC files personally ripped from my CD's. So 16bit depth / 44.1kHz sampling rate.

However I have some FLAC files that I downloaded from an online store after purchase that are 24bit depth / 48kHz sampling rate.

I noticed recently that the audible speed of music was wrong when playing the different formats one after the other.

I had been listening to 16bit / 44.1kHz FLAC files and had some 24bit / 48kHz FLAC files later in my playlist. When the first 24bit / 48kHz FLAC file started to play the artist's voice was too slow (all aspects are slow but the artist's voice is what tipped me off).

Through a variety of turning things off and on again I managed to get the Melco to play 24bit / 48kHz FLAC files normally.

However now I'm listening to 24bit / 48kHz FLAC files and have some 16bit depth / 44.1kHz FLAC files in my playlist and when they start to play the artist's voice is now too fast.

I've tried turning the Melco on and off again, and restarting Linn Kazoo etc. - and I can't seem to resolve the issue.

Is this a "known" problem?
Anyone got any clues what might be causing it and how to rectify please?

I've definitely listened to 16bit / 44.1kHz FLAC and 24bit / 48kHz FLAC files on this Melco & DAC before but have never had the issues with songs going too slow or too fast before.

I did recently upgrade to MinimServer 2.1 update 210. So I'm wondering if this has caused the problem?

Regards,
David

There are no changes in update 210 that could cause this issue.

I have used a Melco for many years and I have never experienced anything like this.

Do you have any MinimStreamer transcoding settings in effect?

No - I don't use MinimStreamer.

My suspicion is that this is some sort of software issue in Melco or in the USB DAC. The DAC is an Exogal Comet Plus unit.
A full power off - wait 30s - and power on of everything has sorted it for now.
And I can play 16bit depth / 44.1kHz & 24bit depth / 48kHz files normally again.

Thanks for looking and responding anyway, Simon.
