How are multiple content directories displayed? - tarnkappe - 01-01-2022 16:55

Hello,

in minimserver you can define more than one music content directory that is scanned for music. What happens if you are defining more than one directory? Are they somehow are separated from each other or are they put into one set of music? How is the content displayed on index folders and in folder view?

I am asking because I have some sub directories in the music directory like:

music/
* CD-Rips/
* stuff/
* test/

Currently I let minimserver scan the complete music/ directory. But maybe it would be interesting to specify each subdir instead if their content would be kept separated?

Thanks
Gert

It doesn't make any difference whether you specify the single top-level directory or specify each subdirectory separately. In both cases, you have the following choices:

1) All music in all subdirectories is combined together for indexing. This is the default.

2) You can select any subdirectory using [folder view] --> subdirectory name and then select >> Tag View --> subdirectory name to see an index for only those files that are under the selected subdirectory.

Ok, thanks for the quick answer. Then I keep it as it currently is.
