http: connection issues - tapeworm48 - 01-05-2021 15:40

i am running minimserver2 on my windows PC. i used to be able to access the server/directory from my iPhone (via the foobar2000 app) so i could download music folders to my iPhone.

this no longer seems to be working. i entered the URL as https://"local.ip"/9790 for the server, but i keep receiving "network authentication error".

any help? currently on the 30-day trial license. will be buying the full license once i get this to work.

You need to enter the local ip address as a numeric value, not the string "local.ip". For example, if the local ip address is 192.168.0.99, you should enter http://192.168.0.99:9790 (note that there is a colon before 9790, not a slash as in your post).

thanks ah yes that is what i did, but i am seeing the same error. in fact i have to do https, as http is not working at all (its greyed out)

Port 9790 is an http port, not an https port. If I use https, the browser tab hangs, which is what I would expect. I am not sure what might cause you to be unable to use http but able to use https.

Edit: I think perhaps you are saying that you are unable to use http and also unable to use https. Please confirm. If so, this might be caused by a security setting in your browser. Which browser and version number are you using?

i'm able to see it on google chrome. my issue is on foobar on iOS on my iphone X. i'm trying to connect to my minimserver from foobar so i can download folders to my iphone for playback. previously i would see my server, but since they released minim2.0 i can no longer connect. since then i've upgraded to 2.0 (trial license).

here is what i see on foobar.

You need to use http, not https.

the 2nd line (2nd image) is http: but if you can see there, its grayed out, not connecting and not giving me any options on where to go. also when i check the log on my PC, it says http connection timed out.

do you think its a firewall issue?

Why are you using a an IP address for MinimServer instead of letting foobar2000 discover MinimServer as a UPnP server in the usual way?

From the Browse menu in foobar2000, select Media Servers (last entry in list). MinimServer should show up automatically under Local Network. If this isn't working, your phone might not be connected to the local network that is running MinimServer.
