java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - swdick - 05-04-2021 19:01 I recently had to do a clean install of W10 and after udating Minimserver and Minimwatch I got problems: * java.lang.NullPointerException error * a lot of errors lik this: Warning: truncating incorrect value for DATE tag 1985/1997 in file Componisten/Brahms, Johannes (1833-1897)/Clarinet Trio & Piano Trio No. 2/08 Johannes Brahms - Trio for clarinet (or viola), cello & piano in A minor, Op. 114; Allegro.flac Minimserver started for a second (showed its icon green) but then stopped and gave the above errors. RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - simoncn - 05-04-2021 19:25 Please post the complete stack trace for the NullPointerException. This should be preserved in a minimserver-crash file in this folder: C:\Users\your-user-name\AppData\Roaming\MinimServer\data The AppData folder is hidden by default in Windows Explorer. You can view it by typing the full path into the Explorer address bar. The value 1985/1997 isn't valid for the Date tag. The value must be YYYY or YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD. RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - swdick - 05-04-2021 19:34 Thanks for your quick reply. There is no Minimserver map or file in this place, only Minimwatch files: .config, config.lock, .config.save and .log RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - simoncn - 05-04-2021 21:41 The MinimServer/data folder (if present) contains MinimServer files. The MinimWatch/data folder (if present) contains MinimWatch files. From your post, I thought you were running MinimServer on Windows 10. Is this correct or are you running it on some other device? RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - swdick - 06-04-2021 06:55 No, I'm sorry to be unclear. Minimserver runs on my Synology Nas. On the NAS I see several files such as Minimserver-out.log and a (lot of) -crash files. I attach them. RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - simoncn - 06-04-2021 09:56 Thanks for this. This problem could occur if you had previously browsed to an alpha-grouped container and then disabled alpha grouping. The control point is not aware that alpha grouping has been disabled and has attempted to browse to a container that no longer exists. This should produce a warning message but not a NullPointerException. Does this seem consistent with what you were doing before the problem occurred? RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - swdick - 06-04-2021 10:03 I suppose it has to do with the settings of the properties in Minimwatch. I have reinstalled W10 and lost all the settings of the properties of Minimwatch. I did use grouping and all sorts of properties which I forget now. In the properties of Minimwatch nearly all fields are greyed out and can not be changed. RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - simoncn - 06-04-2021 10:20 These properties are greyed out because you are running MinimServer 2 Starter Edition on your Synology NAS. To get back all the settings you had previously, you can activate a free 30-day trial license. To keep these settings after 30 days, you need to purchase a MinimServer 2 full license. You can find more information about this on this page. RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - swdick - 06-04-2021 13:03 I activated a trial licence and all seems well now. Thanks. What was the cause of the problem? I understand that the free version should also work. Is the AlphaGrouping the problem? RE: java.lang.NullPointerException and other problems - simoncn - 06-04-2021 13:24 The NullPointerException with the free version and alphaGroup is a bug that will be fixed in the next MinimServer update. Thanks very much for letting me know about this. |
