Sorry if I am dense, but I am struggling with transcoding flac to mp3.
I am running MinimServer2 on a Synology DS1815+, latest DSM
I have installed minimstreamer-2.0.3, so the stream.transcoding property is now available. The stream.comverter property has been populated with ffmpeg automatically. According to manual this is what is needed to transcode flac to mp3 (for local files on the NAS)
When I try to enter flac:mp3 to the stream transcode field, I get the attached error message

From the online user guide, for the mp3 output type:
mp3 PCM audio encoded in MP3 format. Valid for network streams only. A stream converter program is required.
As this says, mp3 transcoded output is available for network streams only, not for local files.

I could do this differently. The basic problem is that my Sonoro radio / streamer can handle mp3, m4a and max 16/48kHz PCM.
So mp3 and m4a do not need to be converted at all.
How would I go about converting all local files that the Sonoro cannot handle (FLAC, WAV > 16/48kHz, DSF) to WAV16/44.1 or WAV16/48? (24bit is not supported on the Sonoro)

.... why should you need to transcode to mp3?

see my previous post. I do not need to transcode to mp3 any more

I will give these transcoding parameters a go
flac:wav16;44, wav:wav16;44, dsf:wav16;44
EDIT: seems to do the job.
