Yamaha WXC-50 - Oroperplex - 05-12-2019 17:29
hello i am playing with the thought to buy a yamaha wxc- 50 as preamplifier for 2 active speakers. i want to connect my synology or qnap with installed minimserver. Which app is to be preferred on tablet or app (apple, android) to keep the operation comfortable. Could i also use my bubble app, which I currently use with a LINN DSM.
Does anyone have any experience with the device ?

It was not easy to connect my WXC-50 to MinimServer. In WIFI mode, the Musiccast controler app didn't see this server. Others servers on my PC (Foobar2000, Logitech Media Server) were not seen, except the Windows Media Server.
I had to wire with ethernet cables the WXC-50 and the PC to the router to use MinimServer to listen my music. The situation is not perfect : the reading of my Flac files is not gapless.
It is interesting to note that my Sonos Playbar and Logitech Squeezebox can play my music Library on the PC without problem on Wifi!

The gapless problem is caused by the player, not by MinimServer. MinimServer supports gapless playback with players that are capable of this.

Did yousolve this issue with non gap less by trying different players (apps) ? Best case will be that bubble upnp will work with WXC-50

It appears that some people have had success with gapless playback on the WXC-50. See the discussion on this thread.

I just tried BubbleUpnp with an opera on the Yamaha WXC-50 with MinimServer and it was gapless. Also the research in the Library is a lot more easy in BubbleUpnp and the information about the work in the Now Playing window is more complete.
