MinimServer on Synology DS not visible from Cryus Stream - mconvey - 29-03-2013 04:30
Hi,
I have MinimServer 6.3.5 running on a Synology Diskstation (DS412+, running DSM 4.2) and also on a Mac.
A Cyrus Stream XP2 (firmware 3.2) can see the MinimServer running on the Mac, but not the MinimServer running on the Diskstation. Other DLNA clients such as the IOS 8player app can see both of them. The configuration of both MinimServers is the same.
The Cyrus Stream can see other DLNA servers on the Diskstation (e.g. Plex - not running them both at the same time).
I have put the MinimServer logging into Trace mode, and there are no obvious connections from the Cyrus Stream.
I have tried reinstalling MinimServer on the Diskstation.
Any suggestions for getting this working would be appreciated.

For future reference, this seems to be because the DiskStation has two LAN interfaces, and I was using LAN 2. Switching the ethernet cable to LAN 1 made MinimServer visible on the Cyrus Stream.

Thanks for this information. This is similar to the problem described in this post. It's going to be difficult for me to debug this without access to one of these 2-port Synology devices. For now, I'll add something to the Synology installation page warning people about these issues.

But I'm running Minimserver on Netgear ReadyNAS Pro 6 with two ethernet cards and there is no problem. maybe it depends on Ethernet cards configuration...

Based on the problem reports I've had so far, I think the problem is specific to Synology.
