I'm using Minimserver on Ubuntu 18.04 and can't get the tray icons to work, which doesn't really matter as I don't need them.
Is there a way to stop minimserver from trying to create one, so that I don't get the error message every time my server reboots?

You can use the minimserver/bin/setup command to disable desktop integration.
