Starting MinimWatch - Gumby - 09-09-2018 17:36

I would like to have MinimWatch start automatically when I reboot or start my computer. Currently, it seems the only way to start it is to start it manually after starting my PC. Is there a way to have start when booting Windows or, alternately, pinning the shortcut icon to the Taskbar? I am running the latest version of MinimWatch on a Windows 7 PC.

I haven’t used 7 for a while, but I’m pretty sure you just create a shortcut for Minimwatch on your desktop, then drag it to your startup folder. Read this: https://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/add-programs-to-windows-7-startup-folder/

Google is your friendSmile

If you copy the MinimWatch shortcut in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\MinimWatch into C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

that should (in theory) start it automatically. Not tried it - it's an executable Java file so not sure.

You'll need to show hidden files and folders in Explorer btw.

Thanks to both of you for your help. The two suggestions basically led to the same place. However, the real problem I was having was creating the shortcut. I finally found it in the minimum program directory as shown on the attached screenshot. Copy this the Startup folder and it works.

I was kindly pointed here by member timster and this fixes my query too.

Thanks to all involved for your help as I suspect I'd never have found where all the folders are.
