Sort order for performers / composers / conductors etc - Novice - 22-01-2018 13:39

I am using DBPoweramp to rip my discs and am playing them on Naim equipment.
I have the sort orders set to Surname, Forename on the ripper. How do I get them to come up like that under Artist/Allartists etc please?Huh

If your Artist tags have been written to your files as "surname, forename", that is how they will display in your control point.

If your Artist tags have been written to your files as "forename surname", it is possible that dBpoweramp has also added ArtistSort tags in the "surname, forename" format.

Do you ever want to see an artist name shown as "forename surname" or do you always want to see these (including on the Now Playing screen) as "surname, forename"?

hello
They invariably come up as forname surname on the databases and in db poweramp I set composer sort order to surname, forename nut they always appear forname surname unless I enter them as Surname, forname. It would be so much faster if it one of the programs would sort them! Is there any way please?

Do you want to see them as surname, forename:

McCartney, Paul
Ross, Diana
Stevens, Cat

or see them as forename surname and sorted by surname first:

Paul McCartney
Diana Ross
Cat Stevens
