Minimstreamer Licence Expired - BlueDog - 11-12-2017 11:01

Simon, had to restart the Qnap this morning and it tells me the Minimstreamer licence expired (in 2 weeks time!) and refuses to start...

Please see attached:

Duh! Ignore this - just seen the release notes for 0.7.3 - sorry.

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - simoncn - 11-12-2017 11:37

It looks like something has gone wrong with the expiry date calculation. I will investigate. Thanks for letting me know.

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - simoncn - 11-12-2017 11:45

I am not seeing this problem. Is the date on your QNAP NAS set correctly?

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - BlueDog - 11-12-2017 11:53

Yes, the date and time are correct - using NTP.

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - BlueDog - 11-12-2017 12:01

I only shut it down as I had to replace my UPS.

This was all that was in the log:

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - BlueDog - 11-12-2017 12:18

Well, I know the clock is correct so just for fun I rolled back to 0.7.2 again and sure enough, it fails with that message.

Gremlins. Big Grin

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - simoncn - 11-12-2017 13:13

Not gremlins. I have identified the combination of circumstances that can cause this. Do you have autoUpdate enabled or disabled?

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - BlueDog - 11-12-2017 13:17

Disabled, I much prefer to have an element of control over when these things happen.

RE: Minimstreamer Licence Expired - simoncn - 11-12-2017 13:29

I understand. Unfortunately, this is one of the circumstances that is required to trigger the problem.

I have removed MinimStreamer 0.7.3 for now and I will release new updates for both MinimServer and MinimStreamer soon.
