Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - lozdown - 26-10-2017 18:57 I upgraded to Ubuntu V17.10. Java is OpenJDK 9. Updated Minimwatch to V0.8.4.7 use Java 9. Minimwatch will not start giving error 'unable to create tray icon'. minimwatch.log Code: MinimWatch 0.8.4.7, Copyright (c) 2012-2017 Simon Nash. RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - simoncn - 26-10-2017 23:30 The message about "murrine-scrollbar" has a workaround as described in comment #4 of this bug report. I'm not sure whether this will also fix the tray icon issue. RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - simoncn - 27-10-2017 21:53 I am working on a fix for this. It should be available soon. RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - markrich - 18-11-2017 12:45 Are we closer to the fix? I am unable to stream my music to my stereo via BubbleUPnP since the loss of Minimserver. :-( RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - simoncn - 18-11-2017 15:16 My apologies. I thought I had already posted back, but this was to a different thread (see this post). You can get MinimServer running by installing the Topicons Plus shell extension. You also need to be on Java 9 and the latest MinimServer update (update 108). RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - markrich - 18-11-2017 18:03 I followed this advice and the icon did appear when running STARTI, however, it is unusable. I have tried selecting the icon, closing the service, uninstalling and reinstalling both the program and the extension but I have a red icon and can do nothing with it. What should I be looking for to resolve? RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - simoncn - 18-11-2017 18:36 If you left-click the red icon, is a message displayed? Please post the contents of your minimserver.log file. RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - markrich - 18-11-2017 18:48 Neither right click or left click works on the icon. All other icons left and right of it, work okay. RE: Minimwatch on Ubuntu 17.10 fails at startup - simoncn - 18-11-2017 20:44 Please post the contents of your minimserver.log file. |
