Hi
How do I set up Minimserver to start up automatically when my Win 8.1 PC boots up?
I have downloaded 0.8.4. It works fine if I double click the desktop icon but I have a headless PC and need Minimserver to start auto on boot up

I'm assuming that you have some means of occasionally showing the desktop and start screen of your computer on a monitor; I don't know how you could have installed Minimserver otherwise
.With the monitor connected, do the following.
1.Open the Windows 8 start screen by pressing the ‘Windows key’+’R’.
2. Type %appdata% in the box, and press Enter. This should open the folder “C:\Users\<User-Name>\AppData\Roaming”.
3. Navigate to “\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup”. The full path should now look something like: “C:\Users\<user-name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup”.
4. Right-click on the MinimServer icon on the desktop and copy and paste it into the open folder.
5. Restart Windows to check that MinimServer starts up (green icon in the system tray).
Note that this arrangement only applies to the current user profile, and that if you log off and log on again MinimServer will restart.

Thanks for the link; the discussion is interesting.
The method I suggested is the simplest, but has its limitations. It works best with a computer which has only one user account (as most do). While anyone running a headless machine can be presumed to be computer literate, it seemed best to stick to the simple method if at all possible.

Indeed I keep a monitor and mouse/keyboard handy to connect up once in a while for such occasions
