Minimwatch Crashing - Budgie - 07-12-2012 00:29

Hi Simon,
Trying to run minimwatch on openSUSE machine. It used to work OK but now it starts and immediately crashes with the following message:-

[undefined=~/minimwatch-0.63/data> java -jar ../lib/minimwatch.jar
MinimWatch 0.63, Copyright © 2012 Simon Nash. All rights reserved.
Startup complete - press enter to shutdown:
MinimServer[qnapnas1] is running
The program 'java' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
(Details: serial 390 error_code 8 request_code 73 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
undefined]
I am uploading new data to server so that might be cause of problem but seek your advice please.
Budgie

I've never seen this before, and I don't have an OpenSUSE system to test it myself. Which version of Java are you using? Is it OpenJDK or Oracle? It might be useful to try a different version of Java to see if that makes a difference. Another possibility is that there is some problem with the X Window installation on the machine.

Hi Simon,
I think this problem is an artifact of system delays. It has happened twice and each time when I have gone to command line immediately after booting. If I close console and wait a minute and reopen console all works fine.
On the PM issue I have trouble getting the files back to you. No attachment option in PM reply and the forum didn't like the file format. At present there is no file ending. I have no idea if the three files will exceed the website limit. Would you like me to upload them to your site?
Regards,
Budgie
