Synology backup and Minimserver? - timster - 01-07-2016 10:25 DSM6.0. I have only just noticed this since my backup last night failed (due to an non-minim related fault). So this could have been a consequence of the DSM6.0 upgrade. I have HyperBackup set to backup all folders and applications, and it used to (pretty sure anyway) backup the Minimserver application. However, it doesn't appear in the list of applications to backup anymore (neither does the auto rescan package). Is this ok? Or do I need to do something different with DSM6.0 to backup these apps? Many thanks RE: Synology backup and Minimserver? - simoncn - 01-07-2016 12:15 I am seeing the same thing. I don't know how Hyper Backup decides which applications to show in the list. This shouldn't be a problem for MinimServer because backing up the MinimServer shared folder saves everything you need. If you need to restore your NAS because of a disk failure, you can restore the MinimServer shared folder from your backup and then reinstall the MinimServer application. I don't use auto rescan and I don't know what would be needed to backup any data used by the auto rescan package. RE: Synology backup and Minimserver? - timster - 01-07-2016 13:19 Thanks Simon. It's not brilliant Hyper Backup - the reason it failed was because I'd removed a package I don't need, but it hadn't removed it from the backup list. Doh! |
