Can minimserver send all tags downstream - n3mmr - 02-06-2015 11:56
I'm quite the newbie with minimserver, but, disregarding the problem of making your control point display all tags, can you make minimserver send all tags found in the music file to the control point and/or the renderer?

This isn't possible because the UPnP specification defines a limited set of metadata that the server can send to the control point.

As far as I remenber, UPnP-av v2.x increased that set, but I can't remember from what or to what..
Would control points break if you did send all tags?

The complete set is listed in Appendix B of this document.
MinimServer supports UPnP AV 1.0 because this is the version supported by all the control points that I'm familiar with.
MinimServer doesn't send all the metadata in the spec because much of it isn't applicable to music files or isn't supported by control points.
