Using Linn Kazoo, I see a different behaviour for Artist and Album browsing.
Within Artist menu, I see A-Z down the left hand side of the screen, and so can jump to artists starting with 'H' for example.
In my Album browse, I have it sorted by Artist/Year, but I don't get the A-Z down the left hand side to allow me to jump to a given point.
Can that be configured?

No it can't, and it's not obvious (to me at least) what the logic is as to when the list appears and when it doesn't. This is a Kazoo thing, of course, and nothing to do with MinimServer.

I think the A-Z list appears only when the albums are sorted in order of album title. This makes sense because Kazoo doesn't know what tags you have configured in MinimServer to sort the list, so to Kazoo the list appears to be in some unknown random order.
