MinimWatch not startung (Mac OS X) - vkoechli - 08-01-2014 11:47
After updating from 0.72 to 0.81, MinimWatch no longer works on my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion). In the console I see only the following log entry:
08.01.14 11:40:37.565 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[343]: ([0x0-0x33033].com.minimserver.watch[508]) Exited with code: 1
A restart did not solve the problem. Any ideas?

Which version of Java do you have installed? MinimWatch 0.8.1 requires Oracle Java 7. When you launch MinimWatch without this installed, you should get a message box telling you this, with a button that takes you to the Oracle Java download page.

Aehem… this is indeed a bit embarrassing: I had 1.6.0_65. After updating to Java 7 all is well! Seems I didn't read the change log well enough, I thought the Java 7 requirement applied only to MinimServer…
A prompt informing about missing / obsolete Java version, however, did not appear. MinimWatch just didn' start.

I'd like to track down the cause of the missing message if possible. Which version of MinimWatch did you download? Was it the current MinimWatch-0.8.1a-macosx.dmg version or the original MinimWatch-0.8.1-macosx.dmg version?

Thanks for confirming this. I've identified the cause of the problem, and it's fixed now in MinimWatch-0.8.1b-macosx.dmg.
