Minim keeps crashing - best - 23-12-2013 17:53
I have installed the new version, but it keeps crashing.

Simon is obviously the expert, but he he has explained that he has both limited time and limited connectivity over the Christmas holiday period. Also, he may have issues with the appalling weather many parts of the UK are having at the moment. So I venture to offer a few less informed thoughts on your log.
You have a lot of warnings about metadata issues that ideally ought to be fixed, but (as such warnings have never been associated with a crash in my case) I doubt that those are relevant to the main problem. I do see however that, immediately before MinimServer threw the exception, it had a series of errors with playlist files. I recall that when another user had exceptions with these files, Simon advised deleting them. It might be worth deleting the file playlist.m3u, and also possibly the files Carnegie Hall.m3u and Chan Chan_WAV.m3u, and restarting MinimServer to see if that helps.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to install once again and it worked, without deleting any files. But sometimes it crashes and I get this error box which I have attached.

This ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException crash is a known issue with 0.8.1 that has been reported by two other people, and I am investigating the cause. It is unlikely to be related to the other errors and warnings in the log.
I will post an update when I have any more news about this problem.

Thanks for your reply. This error happens when minim is restarted after making changes to the library. Exiting minimserver and restarting from the desktop icon and the error messsge does not appear.

I have added some additional diagnostics to minimServer update 13 that should enable me to identify the cause of this problem. The diagnostic information will be written to the crash log file. If you get this problem again, please post the first few lines of the crash log file.

This problem is now fixed in MinimServer update 14.
