Is that wrong? What should the setting be to avoid this? And why when I use the stopall function then startc do i still get this error?

Because you have enabled autostart, MinimServer will start automatically every time you boot the machine. If you then use startc, you are starting a second instance and this will cause a port number conflict.

If this happens after stopall, this means that stopall didn't work correctly. What output did you get from stopall?

I have my minimwatch icon fluctuating between the colors red and green. While red it displays the error of this topic title. Trying to figure it out on my own by searching, I'm reading there is a conflict but I'm not sure how to resolve...

You are probably starting a second instance of MinimServer unintentionally and this is causing the conflict. What type of machine (PC, Mac, Linux) are you using to run MinimServer?

RE: HTTPService: error creating server socket: Address already in use - brownbear - 21-01-2017 20:20

PC win7. I uninstalled and reinstalled minimserver on my synology NAS because the icon went grey on me and I couldn't get it back. Now I have the red/green fluctuation problem.

From this, I'm not sure whether you are currently running MinimServer (not MinimWatch) on Windows or on Synology.

You said you have a MinimWatch icon that is fluctuating between red and green. if you are running MinimServer on Windows, this would presumably be a MinimServer icon, not a MinimWatch icon. Please list all the places you are running MinimWatch and all the places you are running MinimServer.

Sorry about that. MinimServer is installed on the Synology NAS and MinimWatch is installed on the Win7 PC.

This is surprising because it should not be possible to start multiple instances of MinimServer on the Synology NAS.

The next time you see a red icon, right-click on it and select Close from the menu. After doing this, do you see a green icon? Also, is MinimServer visible in your control point and can you use it to browse your library and play music?

Yes, after I right clicked and closed it - it turned green. Also, yes it's visible in my control point and working. I know I have multiple volumes on the NAS, could it be that it's on 2 different drives?

I didn't know that DSM would allow the same package to be installed on two different volumes. If you have done this, it could cause the problem you are seeing.

When MinimServer is installed, it creates a shared folder named MinimServer with a subfolder named appData. Please check your volumes with File Station to see whether you have MinimServer/appData folders on multiple volumes.

If you do have multiple installations, can you use Package Center to uninstall one of these?

RE: HTTPService: error creating server socket: Address already in use - brownbear - 22-01-2017 15:56

On the NAS in Package Center, it shows MinimServer installed on volume 1. The interesting thing is the status shows it is "stopped," even though MinimWatch is green and everything is working from the control point. I'm not familiar enough with DSM to see if I can see if it's also installed on volume 2-do you know a way to see this?
