If you can browse your files in Windows Explorer or macOS Finder, viewing the files sorted by modification date (most recent first) is almost equivalent to what you would see by using the "special tag" approach in MinimServer. Well, I need this feature to look after progress/success of steady improving the tagging of my music collection. The initial tagging is done with TagScanner and the fine tuning inside foobar2000. Facets is THE perfect foobar library manager component with user definable filters: - modified last day (today and yesterday) - modified last week - modified last month - modified last quarter year (see post#3). ![]() So I don't deal with files or folders. All is done by tags and filters inside foobar. RE: New *RecentChanged similar to *RecentAdded - simoncn - 12-02-2026 11:25 Thanks for explaining this. It helps me understand why you have made this request. foobar2000 is a very impressive product. It includes a UPnP server, UPnP control point, tagger and transcoder. It also provides a platform that supports a huge number of very useful plug-in components. In contrast, MinimServer is purely a UPnP server. There have been requests to add other functionality such as tag editing, a control point and a proxy OpenHome renderer. My response to these requests has been that I would prefer to put my efforts into making MinimServer a better UPnP server and let others put their efforts into creating and enhancing these other components of the digital audio ecosystem. It seems to me that this is a similar situation. Adding LastModified support to MinimServer in the basic form that I have described would fall far short of what Facets and other library managers can do. This is likely to lead to requests for enhancements to provide more functionality for indexing files for library management purposes, which is a different scenario from MinimServer's primary purpose of working in conjunction with a UPnP control point to find and select music to play. For these reasons I think it would be better not to go down the path of trying to add library management functionality to MinimServer but leave this to other products for which it is a primary feature. Since yesterday evening I checked some more scenarios for which I thought to need a new functionality. What shall I say? The existing *RecentAdded did the jobs mostly fine! So finally apologies for my hasty request and thanks for your patience.
RE: New *RecentChanged similar to *RecentAdded - simoncn - 12-02-2026 17:56 Thank you for your understanding. I am pleased you have been able to use Recently Added to do what you need. Another thought that might be useful: If you delete or rename the added-dates.txt file and then do a rescan, Recently Added will show a recently changed list (without added files) indexed by the time periods that you want. |
