RE: Let's brainstorm..Setting up MinimServer to feed a USB DAC - wappinghigh - 03-09-2013 09:25 ^ Can you elaborate please? So the Sonore Orbiter will stream MinimServer? I'm not prepared to give it up either!!! So the Sonore Orbiter will stream MinimServer? I'm not prepared to give it up either!!!Sorry, I can't say much more. I experimented for a little bit and decided I didn't want to go this route. The setting to enable LMS to work with other servers is buried deep in some options. When testing LMS I was using a different computer than the one I have today, but I can find out what the setting was if you want. Yes it does. The tread was deleted by the administrator... RE: Let's brainstorm..Setting up MinimServer to feed a USB DAC - wappinghigh - 04-09-2013 06:50 ^ The problem is Sonore has two streaming products. An "Orbiter" and a "Rendu". Only the Rendu works with Minimserver out of the box AFAIK, but the problem is there is no Rendu with a USB out. The "Orbiter" is the product with USB out but it runs LMS.... So MinimServer "fans" are stuck for easy options with Sonore ATM... I've let the Sonore designer know about this little "issue"....

Not helpful for those of us who just wanted the facts. David RE: Let's brainstorm..Setting up MinimServer to feed a USB DAC - wappinghigh - 04-09-2013 11:30 Yes the facts would be useful. I just wish Sonore would get on and produce the obvious product we all want...If they did that then I'd be a new customer. I've got a couple of DAC's lying around just waiting for MinimServer input.. I've done what I can
RE: Let's brainstorm..Setting up MinimServer to feed a USB DAC - wappinghigh - 04-09-2013 11:32 If they can't/don't want to, then that's up to them I guess.. so lets get on and explore other options... At the end of the day I simply want MinimServer out via USB! RE: Let's brainstorm..Setting up MinimServer to feed a USB DAC - wappinghigh - 05-09-2013 13:21 I've drawn a blank on this. It's soooo frustating.. I can't find one simple player out there.. The closest I've got is the Cubox Mubox project.. http://www.solid-run.com/general/75-mpd I can't see anywhere wether it it will stream files UPnP with any degree of "confidence"... Perhaps we should start a Kickstarter?.. |
