Do you store your audio files on a Windows pc or on a NAS which is accessible from a Windows pc?
If yes, you may be interested in reading the How to generate 'Recently added' tags thread.
Any feedback from this temporary solution might be useful to simoncn in the development of his solution.

.... or you could use Lumin app. But you need to install on your nas or elsewhere Bubbleupnpserver that is needed to let Lumin app discover your upnp renderer/s on the network
