Transcoding an AAC stream to MP3 isn't recommended because this will significantly reduce audio quality.

If you are able to play non-UK HLS streams, these are AAC as well and there is no reason as far as I know why an MPEG-DASH AAC stream would fail to play. The HLS streams have URLs like this:

http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8

Is this playing OK for you without transcoding?

Yes this is playing away perfectly without transcoding

Please check your .m3u files for the HLS and MPEG-DASH streams. Are they identical except for the URLs or do they differ in the stream IDs or stream types that they specify? Can you post the contents here?

Yes here is a sample of my HLS Stream of BBC 1 Working
#EXTINF:-1,[*R1;aac] BBC Radio 1
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.m3u8

Here is a sample of the MPEG-DASH Stream of BBC 1. Not Working
EXTINF:-1,[R1;aac,48000] BBC Radio 1
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/dash/nonuk/dash_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.m3u

The MPEG-DASH URL is wrong. It should be:

http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/dash/nonuk/dash_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.mpd

with mpd at the end, not m3u. Also, I suggest that you change aac,48000 to aac in the MPEG-DASH entry.

I'am getting file format error using the link you gave me
#EXTINF:-1,[R1;aac,] BBC Radio 1
http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/dash/nonuk/dash_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.mpd
Maybe I have missed something do I need to put anything into stream.transcode or stream.options in properties

There should not be a comma after aac. Do you have #EXTM3U at the start of the .m3u file? What version of MinimStreamer are you running?

Glad to hear the MPEG-DASH stream is working now. Do you notice any difference in sound quality from the HLS stream?

Yes it is much clearer now and very stable at the moment I am playing the BBC MPEG-DASH streams on a Pioneer N50 and it sounds superb.
