I have contacted Yamaha support over this issue.
They have responded that the Yamaha only supports DNLA and not UPnP AV.
Does that explain anything?

No, this doesn't explain why some of your files are playable and others aren't. MinimServer contains support for DLNA and should be fully compatible with DLNA control points and renderers even though it doesn't have formal DLNA certification. Do the playable files have a different type (mp3/flac/m4a/wav/etc.) than the unplayable files?

All music files were ripped mostly in high-def FLAC, some in ALAC using Dbpoweramp.
Files in the 'Populaire' subfolder can be played on the Yamaha while those in the 'Classique' subfolder' do not. I have tried moving files from the Classique to Populaire subfolder and they still won't play either on from my Synology or my QNAP backup server. I can get the files to play on the Yamaha as an output on Foobar2000 mobile or BubbleUp.
I must say this defies all logic.

Please produce a trace log. This might provide some clues.
1) In MinimWatch, select 'Show log'
2) In the logging window, set the logging level to Trace
3) Leave the logging window open
4) Try to play one of the problem files
5) In the logging window, click 'Save as' to save a log file
6) Zip the log file and attach the zipped file to a post here
7) In the logging window, set the logging level back to Info

I have removed groups from a file and it now plays on the Yamaha

Thanks for sending the trace log. This problem is caused by a bug in MinimServer and it will be fixed in the next update. Thank you for helping me find and fix this problem.

Unfortunately, MinimServer 0.8.5.3 with grouped files is not recognized as a server by the Yamaha...

As I said, the problem wih grouped files will be fixed in the next update. I will post here when the update is available.
