Hello,
i am searching for the best NAS on the street with following conditions
Target of NAS is Linn Accurate ADSM 3
should be quit
one or 2 bay
best performance only for music (flac) and with minim server 2
good backup options over USB or an other NAS
Addionately an advice about best hardisk, ssd < 2TB will be useful
reliability is the main focus here

You should use a Melco for example.
This machines sounds as much better as ordinary NAS without modifications.

I have a Synology DS118 and a QNAP HS251+. Both are silent and fast. I run them with 2.5 inch HDDs to reduce noise and power consumption. The sound from a Melco will be better if your budget can stretch to this.

but i use a Linn Accurate ADSM 3 as streamer so Melco stramer makes no sense ?

what i read about the ds 118 was good , then i have to look for a ssd that is compatible with the ds118
when i install DSM on Ds 118 and music folder than i can select minim server 2 to install out of packages and configure it with minimwatch. ?

Crucial MX500 is a good choice for SSD. Install MinimServer 2 from Package Center, configure it with MinimWatch and enjoy the music!

You can use the Melco as a server with the Linn as a renderer.

Means Melco N1A could be a "better " NAS in case of music quality ? ... and it `directly connected to 1.) Linn Accurate DSM and 2.) Switch ,via cable
WIFI component is also connected to switch . so i can control my music via BubbleDS for Linn DS

Yes, exactly as you say. Connecting the Melco directly to the Linn improves sound quality.

Why should the NAS brand contribute to the quality of the audio? Can you elaborate?
