Hi,

I am running Minimserver 0.72 on my Synology NAS, presently with DSM 4.2-3211.
The Java Engine is Java SE for Embedded 7 1.7.0_21-0015 by patters and BubbleUPnP Server 0.6.5 by winxi.

I am wondering whether I should be updating the DSM to 4.3, I am hesitant because I do not know which components I would potentially have to reinstall after the update, knowing that the initial installation took me several attempts and hours to finally run smoothly.

Can anybody give me some hints?

BTW: as stated in other threads I am streaming to an Oppo BDP-105 using Kinsky.

Thanks in advance,

Joerg

Hi, updating the DSM should not cause any problems with both the MinimServer and BubbleUPnP Server packages.

As a side note, the DSM update may break the UTF-8 support provided by the Java package from patters. However, as soon as MinimServer is restarted, the MinimServer packacge will automatically restore UTF-8 support.
So I am going to to the Update to DSM 4.3 now. I'll let you know whether it all worked fine,
Success!
It worked without any worries.
I didn't update the Java Embedded though, since I didn't see the point in spending hours of my time.
Music is playing on the Oppo now.

Glad to here that you went through without problems Smile
